An update to SafeSend products was released. See below for more information about the changes.
SafeSend Suite
Improvements
- Multi-Offices Feature
- Users with appropriate permissions can now add, edit, or delete multiple office locations from the "My Company" page in Account Management with the option to assign any location as a primary office location.
- Admins can assign users to their respective office location(s) in User Management.
- Admins can assign clients to a specific office location.
- Users can add or update the office location while processing a return.
- For Returns and Extensions, users can now manage custom authorities for vouchers and invoices directly from Suite Settings instead of navigating to SafeSend Returns – Settings.
Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue where clients were unable to click the download icon to export client management data to Excel.
SafeSend Returns
Improvements
- Clients can now forward tax documents after e-signing, which previously was only possible while reviewing the tax documents.
- Redesigned client-facing emails with improved navigation and straightforward call-to-action design templates to improve user experience.
- Clients will now receive an email notification about mailing a copy of K-1 to their shareholder if the shareholder declines to receive a copy of K-1 electronically.
- While uploading a return, a user can provide access rights to an individual user or available user groups.
Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue where the client and firm sides' statuses were misaligned during the manual signature process in Grouped Returns.
- Fixed an issue where information from 1040-NR was not downloading when users tried to export reports to Excel from Delivered Returns and Archived Returns pages.
- Fixed an issue where clients were unable to save their spouse's updated email address before the e-sign step.
- Fixed an issue where users could not remove a deceased client's or spouse's email address since the email address field was mandatory.
- Addressed an issue in which clients repeatedly received the initial email to their updated email address whenever a user clicked "save" in the Edit Client Info pop-up, even when no changes were made after the initial update.
- Addressed an issue where a user could not manually add vouchers, invoices, attachments, additional E-Sign Documents, and paper file returns while processing a return due to low screen resolution.
- Fixed an issue where delegate signing assigned by the first signer was failing if there was no email ID for the second signer.
- Fixed an issue where an image of an ERO signature stamp appeared broken when placing signature controls.
- Fixed an issue where the Delivery Date column under the Grouped Returns Report was not sorting correctly.
- Fixed an issue where the search functionality in Grouped Returns was only populating results if the user searched by using first name.
- Fixed an issue where an admin was unable to update users' email addresses.
- Fixed an issue where users were getting an upload error when the Federal Return was being uploaded with the State of Oklahoma return.
SafeSend Signatures
Improvements
- Signatures Draft Page
- Users can now save time and effort by having the option to save signature documents as drafts. This option will allow them to resume editing and send signature documents later, eliminating the need to restart the process from scratch.
- Set appropriate access to the drafted documents via the Draft page.
SafeSend Organizers
Improvements
- Users can now delete individual Organizers from batch organizers, eliminating the need to delete and re-upload the entire batch.
- Firms can now restrict clients from uploading additional documents or making further changes to the fillable Organizers by closing individual Organizers from the "Delivered Organizers" and "Archived Organizers" pages.
- Redesigned client-facing emails with improved navigation and straightforward call-to-action design templates to improve user experience.
- Custom Questions Enhancements:
- Firms can now save time in delivering Organizers by creating multiple custom question templates tailored to their needs.
- Firms can add multiple sections and dynamic questionnaires to make the templates look organized and easy to use for their clients.
- Firms can utilize existing custom questions as a base template and apply new enhanced editing features to create new templates.
SafeSend Extensions
Improvements
- Implemented client management functionalities in Extensions similar to Returns and Organizer, eliminating a need to input redundant client information and improving processing time.
- Added the "Return Status" column into both the Extensions report and the Archived Extensions pages, simplifying the process for users to determine the delivery status of returns.
- Built dedicated user settings in Extension to improve productivity:
- Users can now choose default values for categories such as Default ERO/Signer, Default Contact Person, or Default Sender in "My Defaults" instead of adding this information manually while processing every Extension.
- Introduced a "Profile" section within the User Dropdown menu, enabling users to conveniently update their profile information and password directly from Extensions.
- Users can now track their login history through the "Login History" section in the User Dropdown menu.
- Added an enhancement where the page order in the Filing Form tab will match the original PDF, eliminating confusion for users and clients caused by rearranged pages.
- Users can now resend access links (regardless of the status) to their clients for better efficiency.
- Users can now add client signature controls from the Filing Form tab when the form is changed to a signature form. This eliminates the need for users to navigate to the Delivery Options tab to select e-sign options before adding signature control to the form.
- Review Only Status & Notifications:
- Users can now instantly see the "Awaiting Review" status on the Extensions Report page after the Extension is delivered, eliminating the guesswork on the actual status of the delivered extension package.
- The user will receive an email notification, and the status will change to "Reviewed" after clients have reviewed the Extension.
- Removed restrictions for authorities (New York, New York City UBT, and Washington DC) that auto-convert the extension package to manual signing, as these authorities now accept e-signatures.
Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue where the PDF preview while processing an extension was displaying missing text.
SafeSend Exchange
Improvements
- Shared Folders:
- Firms can now create folders that multiple users can access within the firm to help improve productivity.
- Firms can assign, modify, or remove "View" or "Edit" permission from the users of the shared folders at any time.
- Users can now search their inbox using an email address, first name, last name, subject line, or file names.
- Users can now sort emails in the inbox alphabetically or in chronological order.
- Users can now stay logged into the Exchange Web Add-In as long as MS Outlook remains open, provided the computer has not been idle for three hours.
- Users can now include personal or company drop-off links in secured messages sent to their clients. If preferred, users can also choose to exclude either of the links in the secured message.
- Made an update to the client-side UI to offer a simplified and intuitive navigation experience.
Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue where the selected due date was reverting to the previous day when sending out a DRL to a client.
- Fixed an issue where some of the users were receiving an error message while downloading files.
- Fixed an issue where some of the users were unable to use their personal drop-off link as the link was appearing invalid.
SafeSend APIs
Improvements
- Exchange: Added a webhook that allows firms to auto-download documents from DRL.
- Signatures: Users can add signature controls to the document by simply inserting a specific Text ID associated with the signature control.
- New API to change the "Download Status" in Signatures, Organizers, and Returns.
