UltraTax Organizer - Cannot enter Months In Home for a dependent
The Update Client Info page of an UltraTax organizer has a section for the client to input Dependent information, and in that section, there is a column for the client to tell us how many months this dependent lived in the taxpayer's home.
On paper, a client would put in the number of months the dependent lived in their home. The legend shows alternative codes if the child is to be reported on odd years, even years, or not to be reported at all on the return (Codes 77, 88, or 99 respectively).
In SafeSend (both Organizers and Gather), the field is a drop-down menu that only contains the alternative codes, which leaves clients unable to enter the numerical figure representing the number of months that dependent lived with them.
After bringing the issue to Support, the message back said that "because there is not [an option] for those on the key/legend on the Organizer page from the tax software, [the] Development team would not be able to allow other options to be selected."
This means that clients don't really have a way to use this field unless their situation fits one of the three alternative codes.
I'd like for the clients to either write-in the number of months, or to be able to select from a list of "1,2,3...11,12,77,88,99".

We recieved this same feedback from some other users and our product team made the decision to update this logic. You should now see that a numerical number can be entered in this field.
