Estimate Reminders - allow to go to spouse vs. taxpayer
Sometimes the spouse is the more responsive party when it comes to paying estimates etc. It would be very helpful if the estimate reminders didn't only go to the taxpayer or if we could at least specify that it should go to the spouse. Per the help articles, even when the spouse is specified as the primary signer, once the return is signed, reminders automatically default to the taxpayer regardless of the spouse being the primary signer.

Prior to 2025 I think both the taxpayer and spouse received the estimated payment reminders because they both showed up on the reminder report. Not sure why it changed but I noticed the spouse doesn't show up on the reminder report this year.
Agreed! Before it was changed they should have reviewed whether it was more likely to miss a reminder or double pay. Shame on the double payers for not communicating with each other!
I actually didn't realize this wasn't already a thing! We have several "spouse controllers", and I just assumed that if you chose "spouse first", they would get all communications! Yikes!
100% agree - it doesn't need to go to both, but it definitely should go to the spouse if the spouse is the first to receive and sign the return.
