Sort by preparer needed for Gather
Our firm needs to be able to have an editable field attached to each record (client in gather) that we can label for each preparer in the office that can be changed during tax prep season, after the gathers have been sent already. We want this so that we can tag each client (over 1000 in the office, each preparer needs to only see their couple hundred) so that each preparer can have their own dashboard of only their clients and not have a cluttered screen that shows the other clients too. I might be naive, but I think this is not a complicated ask? Adding a new field that is editable to include the users in the firm that can then be one of the columns in the view filter will save us so much time and there must be so many firms that can use a feature like this? This is an urgent request from a firm that is a new adopter to Safe Send that thought this was already a feature when I saw the demo... Pleas implement this ASAP if possible.

Hey John - my firm uses a work around for that. Since ERO/Signer is already a filter-able column, we made our preparers "Partners" in our SafeSend User Management so that we can send batches/one-offs with each preparer as the ERO/Signer. Just don't save/override the information in Client Management and then the preparers can save a filter on their Gather page to just view the requests sent with them as ERO/Signer. I hope this is helpful!
Hi John,
We have a similar issue as all of our clients have both a signer and a client manager, but there is only the ERO/Signer field. Our current workaround is to label the batch names as the client managers so they can look up their clients.
I second this 100 percent. It also helps keep things separate for 7216 consent purposes. Considering how much we pay for safesend use, I'd rather this function be available than to have to do a workaround. Seems only fair.
We absolutely need this feature or a customizable column in Gather like we have in returns. This is a HUGE sticking point in rolling this out to my firm right now and it's causing a lot of issues in assigning work.
