Roles & Permission

I am submitting this request to address ongoing challenges with the current roles and permissions structure within the system. The predefined permission groupings do not accurately reflect the needs of our staff and often assign access levels that extend beyond their actual job responsibilities.

The current permission groups are overly broad and lack clarity. As a result:
Staff members receive permissions they do not need. Administrators cannot easily align permissions with specific job functions. The structure increases the risk of unnecessary access and creates inefficiencies in system management.

These issues impact both operational workflow and the principle of least privilege, which is essential for maintaining security and minimizing access-related errors. I am requesting the implementation of granular, customizable permission controls that allow administrators to:
Enable or disable individual permissions for each staff member. Create custom permission profiles tailored to specific roles or teams. Modify access levels without relying on rigid, predefined groupings.

Implementing this capability would: Improve alignment between permissions and job responsibilities.
Reduce unnecessary access and associated risks. Simplify onboarding and reduce administrative overhead.
Increase overall efficiency and control within the system. Greater flexibility in permissions management would substantially improve our ability to configure access appropriately and maintain a secure, efficient working environment. I appreciate your consideration of this request and am available to provide further information or examples as needed.

  • I agree. I will admit that the entire roles/permission section makes no sense to me as admin. I would love to be able to just toggle on certain permission for users. This include the client portals!! I would love the entire staff to be able to see who has a portal etc.
