Re-write TTC for use a different PDF editor

I realize this is a big deal.    Has there been any consideration of writing TTC for use on a different PDF editor?   Adobe Acrobat is so unstable that it seems worth moving away from it.   TTC is a great product, but since we don't know if/when Adobe will address the background job/API call issue, would you consider moving to a different application?   TTC is an important part of our tech stack, but we also need to be able to work.  That is difficult when Adobe Acrobat crashes multiple times per hour - especially this time of year.
