SafeSend Exchange - Retention Periods

Situation: 

Users can no longer move items to a folder that has a retention period greater than the item itself. This is for regulatory compliance reasons. Retention periods can be shortened but not extended.

• Ex: an item with a 3 month retention period cannot be moved to a folder with a 7 year retention period.

Workarounds:

Users can accommodate for this by increasing the retention period in their Admin and My Settings, so received items will have a retention period that is longer than or equal to their folders.

The My Setting option will apply by default for that user; it will override the Admin setting as long as it is less than the Admin setting.

Our Product and Development teams are working on possible updates to these restrictions in the future.
