    Hi Nanette,

Thank you for reaching out and providing this feedback! We want to ensure that not only clients have a great experience with completing their organizer and uploading documents, but that firms also have a great experience in retrieving those uploaded documents from the client. We have submitted this as an internal enhancement request.

    Thank you!

  • Yes - the jpegs don't work on OCR and get distorted so easily!

  • Agreed, you lose the quality and not to mention how much time it takes to convert all of those files.

  • It would be nice to have a client side app where they could scan to pdf and chat with me instead of texting

  • 100% agree this is needed.  Aside from the amount of time spent converting files and re-requesting documents due to poor quality, the photos are not readable by OCR so it increases time spent keying in and verifying data on more complex returns.

  • Yes! How can we get an update on if this has been implemented?

  • Follow up to my original post in April. I sent out Organizers this week and just found out that if a client opens the email on their phone and choses Upload Documents they receive a message that tells them they can use their phone camera to take pictures of their documents and upload them.   This conflicts with our telling clients please DO NOT send pictures of documents.  Is there any way you can disable this message??  This is causing major confusion.

  • We DO allow clients to send pictures which is how we get a lot of our data.  We do convert them to pdf (you don't have to convert them one at a time - you can do this in one step).  No, they are not ideal quality but it allows us to move forward at least in preparing the return.  I would hope you would not disable this function as some of our clients are quite savvy with uploading their pics and are accustomed to doing it this way.  And if you do decide you are disabling it, that you would give us a heads up to look for other software.

  • We also want to disable the ability to have clients upload photos because the quality interferes with the OCR technology. I don't think it should be completely disabled as a feature but I agree with the commenter that asked for that verbiage to be removed from the upload documents message. It should be a feature optional by firm/how they use it.

  • We also have a message asking our clients not to upload pictures because of the issues we had with them last year and that they do NOT flow well through CCH Scan and Autoflow. We had to find a work around which actually takes more time. If there is an automated message, we do ask that it be removed since that is the opposite of what we are asking our clients to do!  It should be a firm option whether we want to allow pictures to be uploaded or not.

  • I agree with Ruth Moyer that this should be an option that can be turned on/off by firms if it is implemented because some firms may be okay with it.
