"Invoice Payment Due" banner

Currently, the Pay or View Tax Preparation Fees box on the home screen shows a banner above it saying "Invoice Payment Due."  The only option to clear this currently is for the client to enter the details for record-keeping only.  I'm pretty sure most clients aren't going to do this.  We had a client get the email for the Q4 estimate reminder and then they were confused going into the binder noting that their invoice was still due and she almost paid again.  It seems to cause unnecessary confusion for them to have to look back to see if it has already been paid.  I'm not sure what another option is.  Perhaps automatically removing the banner when it's signed.  I'm not sure, but I can imagine a client if they're retrieving their return in a few years being confused by this.

  • We've had several clients pay twice because of this banner. I agree with April's issue. Removing the banner would be nice, either altogether or after a payment is made.

  • We have Clients that will mail a check and NOT pay the invoice through SafeSend.  Then later in the year a Client will go back into the return, it will show "payment due" for the invoice, when in fact it's not.  I think it would be helpful to be able to go in and mark the invoice PAID so we eliminate invoices being paid more than once.

  • We process our payments outside of the Stripe integration for better control (and to offer ACH processing). 

    While I like the fact that the banner shows initially, I echo the concerns posted here and have had some clients upset that we have not updated the banner to show that it was paid - or to remove it at all. It is an embarrassment for my staff to tell the client that they have no way of removing the banner or to mark that it was paid, and it is a waste of admin time to research the payment after the fact and verbally confirm with the client.

    I tried to use "Client View" to add payment details and the option to notate the payment was missing.

    With hope, the next iteration of SafeSend can give us some more flexibility here.
