Gather-Let either spouse sign to get started

When our clients receive their Gather request, it requires the first person on the return to sign first before the spouse can get into the request. It would save about 85% of our phone calls on Gather if either spouse could get in the file first and sign the engagement letter first. Thank you!

    Hello Trish,

Thank you for your feedback! We have submitted this as an enhancement request to our Development team. These requests are reviewed and, if accepted, will be implemented. These changes can take some time to complete.

This is a highly requested item, so hopefully it will be addressed soon!

  • At the very least it would be a good idea to have some sort of prompt letting the spouse know they won't have access until the taxpayer signs.

  • This is a big pain point for us as well. Even if we send to one person and let the client put in their spouses email address, we need to take an extra step to make sure that's the correct spouse to email. Which is difficult to do. Better to send to both and let them decide who takes care of it.
