Client Portal
I have set up a client portal of my own with a personal email address to see things from the clients perspective. It is a bit confusing that any document I send to my personal email ends up in tax year 2025 and all docs that I upload back to my firm from my personal portal show as sent for tax year 2025.
While having these these should certainly be defaulting to 2024 and a fix may be on its way, we need a way to indicate a tax year when sending a secure email. If I am preparing a tax return for 2022 and docs are being sent to/from my client, I would like to be able to have it posted to the correct tax year folder.

Making this change will help us out a lot!
This needs to be fixed ASAP! Also, the documents are not showing up in gather. If clients upload documents to portal, how are we to know? We did not receive a notification, I just happened to stumble upon on of ours.
Agree! The current system (2025 tax year) makes zero sense and has a lot of confused clients. Should be a simple change.
