Client Portal Naming Convention - 2025 Tax Year
The naming convention for the automatic folders setup for documents seems a little misleading. For example, if a client shares a 2024 tax document through Exchange in calendar year 2025, it appears to be classified under "Tax Year-2025" within their portal. This really is not correct and seems to already be confusing for clients. If possible, please consider at least updating the automated folder names to "Calendar Year" 2025 or allow users to edit the folder names.

Hello Travis,
Thank you for your feedback! We have submitted this as an enhancement request to our Development team. These requests are reviewed and, if accepted, will be implemented. These changes can take some time to complete.
Yes, I have had clients calling to state that they want it moved and I have to explain that we can't move them.
The sorting of documents does not make sense. Documents attached to a gather organizer go in the correct folder which is based on tax year. Documents sent via exchange just get associated with the current year, not the tax year we're working on. Can we add something for the clients to specify what tax year the document is associated with?
Yes, I am really hoping this is corrected before the next tax year. I have clients that uploaded in the organizer and exchange so they have documents in 2024 and 2025. It will be a pain next tax season if the 2024 documents remain in the 2025 folder as they start to add new docs.
I do also agree. This has caused some confusion for the clients and they have questioned why they have documents in for 2025 when we are having them upload documents for 2024. I did receive feedback stating that we can delete the SafeSend Exchange Link that they send to us (after downloading the documents they have sent us) and that this will remove the 2025 folder from their Portal view. From what I understand it's the difference in them uploading documents to Gather and sending us documents via Exchange.
