Both taxpayers notified the return is ready simulateously
I just took another tongue-lashing from a wife that was upset that her husband was notified first that the tax return was ready, and that she wasn't notified at the same time. This has happened multiple times this year, accusing our office of being sexist! PLEASE update this feature so that on Gather AI, and the Gather Tax return, both taxpayers are notified simultaneously that their Gather or Tax Return is ready.

Hello Trish,
Thank you for your feedback! We have submitted several enhancement requests to our Development team to address these concerns. As Nick mentioned, parallel signing may be a way to avoid this confusion, but we also have requests to allow the firm to choose how/when the client can access Gather steps. These requests are reviewed and, if accepted, will be implemented. These changes can take some time to complete.
This would be an extremely helpful feature to implement. Despite language in our initial email explaining that the returns go to one spouse at a time with instructions on how to forward copies of the returns, our firm still gets very angry calls and emails. Even if parallel signing can't be implemented, like it was for Signatures, automatically notifying both spouses would relieve a lot of stress.
Please make this a feature in Returns. I am so tired of getting yelled at for this - both by phone and email. We too alert clients of how this process works, and even in our second year with SafeSend, with mostly returning clients, we still got a lot of complaints this tax season. It's not like we can just change who the primary taxpayer is.
And I agree that if they can't parallel sign, married filing jointly clients should be notified and allowed to view the return at the same time. Ignition allows this on their proposals. Even though the secondary signatory can't sign the proposal until the primary signatory has done so, but both of them can still view the proposal at the same time through their unique links.
