Gather - tax docs to workpaper file
I'm not an expert on Gather, but I've done a demo of it and a few other tax intake solutions.
A feature that I feel would be very beneficial to tax preparers would be if Gather could accumulate the provided tax documents into a single workpaper file - ideally bookmarked, and in "tax return order", with interest / dividend statements sorted in the order that they appear on the return.
My understanding is that Gather currently brings in separate PDF files for each item. In my experience, most preparers would have their staff create a single PDF to use as a tax workpaper. It's much more efficient to prepare and review from a single workpaper file - than it is from several PDFs.
The nice thing is that SafeSend / TR should already have the development resources needed (TicTieCalculate, SurePrep, etc.) to make this happen and have it be an exceptional tool for firms to put to productive use.

Hi Bill, we do have a feature that is currently in product that will allow you to download all documents merged together.
While this option does not provide the bookmarking that you suggested, it does provide part of these requests that may meet some of your needs. We can certainly put in feedback to consider enhancing this feature by providing more bookmarking and organization. Thank you!
When I mentioned a "single workpaper file" above - ideally this would be a cloud-based "binder", similar to some other solutions. However, I'd be happy if this was only a sorted / bookmarked PDF.
