Integrated Document Scanner

For any upload areas across the platform, when accessed via a mobile device it would be great if it had an integrated service that would allow a client to take a photo of their document and it would convert it into a "scanned" PDF document (like CamScanner).

That is a big hold up for many of our clients when using Organizers in particular. They don't understand there are separate services like that available nor do they have a scanner, and we end up with really bad quality photos or they give up altogether.

  • I know for any of our clients that have an iPhone, they can use the Notes app that's already on their phone to scan documents and it saves it as a PDF. Open the Notes app, create a new note, click the paper clip icon and choose scan documents.

I don't know if any non iPhones have something similar but I'm sure they do.

  • That's a great tip to share with them if they ask about a solution. Unfortunately the problem is most people don't think to even try some other option and go right for uploading their photos or just end up dropping off/mailing us their non-electronic documents without questioning it. So it would be nice if it were right in front of their face!

  • I agree - we have tried to give that tip to some of our clients but we have two main responses: 1) That's too much extra work or 2) They're not very tech savvy and they can do a photo but going those extras steps is too far out of their abilities.

  • I agree, this would be a great enhancement. It would be nice if firms could disable the upload of certain file types like JPEGS or other phone camera images. and then to this request, a built in document scanner to get the camera photos into PDF files.
